12Seconds.Tv – Quick Video Social Network

I took this video of my nephew Weston with my Blackberry Storm (in case you couldn’t tell from the bad res.)

Earlier today I was reading about a fairly new social networking site call 12Seconds.tv at Scobleizer’s blog.  He had some good things to say about the startup so I decided to sign up for an account and try out the free service.

Basically, 12seconds is a site to upload a video of 12 seconds or less.  According to the 12seconds website:

12seconds is the best place online for video status updates. It’s a super easy way to share what you’re doing with your friends and family using short video clips. You can use your web cam or mobile phone. Show your friends where you are, share your thoughts, or tell them how you’re doing. We are building a video status platform that will help you keep up to date with your friends 12 seconds at a time.

Time will tell if people find this service useful, but with the ability to send a video via email to your profile and with how easy the service is to use I think it’s got a good future.  Everyone has video on their cell phones now.

It’s quick and easy to setup an account.  I set my 12seconds account up and had a video uploaded in about 5 minutes total time.
